What a week haha!

Minasan Konichiwa!!!

This week was crazy! Sunday was Easter and M. Russell Ballard came and spoke to us! It was really good. He spoke about Christ and his atonement. We also got to go on our usual Sunday walk. It’s so nice to get out of the MTC and into the real world, even if it’s only for a half hour. haha!

Also, on Sunday my companions and I became Sister Training Leaders…. .Haha!!!! So that’s cool and kind of scary. We have 3 new districts coming in and we are in charge of new missionary orientation (with the zone leaders). We also do senior companion interviews on Saturdays. We are excited but a little nervous. Last night we went and decorated all the girls doors πŸ™‚ That was fun!

Β I only have 3 more weeks in the MTC!!!!! It’s crazy how fast it’s gone! Oh here’s a funny story, our teacher now has an orange face. haha!! His name is budge kyodai (kyodai means brother) and apparently one of his friends wanted him to put some tanning lotion on his face. He did and now he kind of looks like an oompa loompa haha!!! Our teachers are all pretty young! It’s sort of weird being taught by people that are 2-5 years older then you. They are good teachers though!
The language is coming but it is definitely not an easy language to learn… haha! It’ll come though!
Thank you everyone!! I love you all! D&C 6:36 can be the thought of the week. haha!!!!!
Look unto me in every thought; doubt not, fear not.

I made it another week…!!

This week went really fast. I can’t believe it’s already been another week! But I love p-day so I’m glad it’s Wednesday again. haha!!

I found Valentina!

Let’s see… what big things happened this week… Well the first story is really funny! On Saturday night as we were going to sleep we heard this loud banging on the wall! All the girls in my room sat up. Then we heard it again. We all thought it was the end. We were about to die! Then one of the girls hit the wall back because we were trying to figure out where it came from. haha! So after all this, me and one of my companions went next door to ask the other Shimai tachi what it was.

When we had knocked and walked in the girls were all sitting up in bed. We asked them if they had heard the noise then they all started freaking out! They were like we heard it!! The noise just barely wasn’t us!! We had hit the wall a little earlier but that last noise wasn’t us! Then my companion and I started laughing! We realized that we had just been scaring each other for the past 15 minutes… haha! Then the other girls started laughing and one of them said when she heard the banging she freaked out and started seeing primary songs.. haha! Then after that we went back to our room and told the girls what had happened. Then we decided to have a “slumber party” haha!! We pulled all of our mattresses onto the floor. I’ll send pictures. It was so much fun. haha!!

The other big thing that happened this week.. we watched the Provo City Center Temple Dedication. That was really awesome. There were so many people! We just watched it from the MTC. But it was still cool πŸ™‚

Anyway, those are the big stories for this week! It’s Easter on Sunday!!! I’m so excited!! I’m going to be singing in the MTC choir for the Easter Devotional and I think they’re going to have a General Authority come speak to us but I’m not sure because they won’t tell us. Haha!

I love you all!! Thank you for everything!! Sorry, my emails aren’t that interesting right now. The MTC is basically the same everyday so unless something funny or big happens then it’s just the same old stuff. Class, Sit, Eat, sleep, repeat. haha!!! But it’s pretty fun most of the time. Every once in a while I have hard times and miss people a lot but I’ll survive. 18 months isn’t that long. It’s already been a month!! Thank you again πŸ™‚

It’s been a month!!! Wow, it’s crazy…. This week was a little bit harder than the other ones for me. But it’s ok! I’ll be alright πŸ™‚ I love the girls in my room and my district is awesome. The MTC is kind of the same old same old… Sorry my emails are kind of boring, I bet they’ll get more interesting once I’m in Japan πŸ˜‰ We have been teaching lots of lessons! One of our investigators that we teach came to church so that’s kind of cool. My teachers are really cool.

Monday nights we have our “FHE” as a district where we go around the room and share stories. It’s always a pretty cool experience. Sorry, I don’t have much time. But I just want you all to know that I’m alive!! haaha!! and That I love you guys a lot!! Thank you!!!!! Hopefully next week I will have more interesting stuff to write about!

Oh, I do have a funny story though. Two of the elders in our district were “wrestling” and one of them ripped his pants! It was the funniest thing that happened all week! wow….. kind of sad that was the funniest thing!! haha!!! I’m actually getting sick of the food…. crazy huh? But it’s all good! I’m having fun overall!! πŸ™‚ Thanks for the support!! I’ll talk to you all in a week πŸ™‚

Wow! It’s week 3

Minasan Konichiwa!

This week went so fast!!!!! I can’t believe it’s already P-Day again!!

I’m actually having a lot of fun here in the MTC!! My district is really awesome!! We are teaching almost everyday now. We teach everyday except for Sundays and sometimes we don’t teach on Tuesdays. It’s getting easier to teach and speak Japanese but it’s still a struggle.
Sister MissionariesWe got the new Japanese missionaries in yesterday. They are all native Japanese speakers and don’t know any English. I realized that I only know how to say prayers and testify in Japanese when one of the elders was talking to me and asking me like getting to know you questions and all I could really say back was have you heard about Jesus Christ…. haha! But we basically played charades and I figured out he loves basketball! (I thought of Nigel haha)
The devotionals and choir are really fun! We are going to be here for Easter! The other missionaries told me Easter is a big deal here and that I’m going to love it. I’m super excited actually!
Have you guys seen the Because of Him video on lds.org? If not, you should go watch it because it’s really good.
Sister MissionariesAnyway, I don’t have much time to write. I’m sorry this weekly email is kind of short :/ I will try to write more next week. So I’ll just say talk to you guys in a week!
Ai shite masu! I love you all and want to thank everyone for helping me on this adventure πŸ™‚

I survived another whole week!!! I can’t believe it’s already been two weeks….. The people here keep telling me the days feel like weeks and the weeks feel like days, I understand what they mean now haha.
Sister MissionariesΒ Sister Missionaries
We are still just studying tons, everyday haha! But I’m learning the language! We finished teaching our first investigator and now we have two more. I’m finally starting to be able to say sentences to them instead of playing charades and looking like a weirdo.
Sister Missionaries The District
Oh some other big news is that I’m in a trio now! They added a third girl to our district and she’s with me and Wihongi Shimai! Her name is Lofthouse Shimai and she’s from Alaska. She’s half Japanese and is fluent but doesn’t know gospel terms. She was supposed to only stay 12 days with the fast trackers but since she didn’t know gospel terms she’s staying 9 weeks with the rest of us. At first it was weird to get used to just because all of the sudden we had to worry about 3 people in the morning and stuff like that. But we are adjusting and she’s sweet. It is a lot harder to get to class on time in the morning when there’s 3 girls getting ready though…. haha!
Sister Missionaries Missionaries Sister Missionaries with Photo Bomb Elder Sister Missionaries
We got our iPads on Friday!!! Yay!!!! Technology haha!
Our senpai (the ones who have been here longer than us) are leaving on Monday though and then we will be senpai for the new ones that come in. That’s a really scary thought…. Haha we don’t feel like we are ready to be senpai. But it’ll be ok! haha!
We had a really great devotional last night about moving forward. They talked to us about how we are supposed to learn from our past but not dwell on it. We need to be waking up everyday, putting a smile on our face and moving forward. Don’t worry about things, just trust it’s going to be ok and keep going πŸ™‚
Sister MissionariesSister Missionaries
So with that thought I’ll say talk to you guys in a week!! Thank you!! Ai shite masu!
Love,
Jones Shimai
P.S. I want to say Β thank you to those that have sent me packages and dear elders πŸ™‚ Me and my roommates love the food πŸ˜‰
