Hey!!!!! I hope everyone had a great week!
The time is going toooo fast!!!!! We had a great week full of lots of surprises and miracles!
First, WE WERE FINALLY ABLE TO MEET WITH SEIKA! She is the really awesome investigator we met like a month ago. She’s the one that ran after us in heels. We had set a next appointment but then she got sick so we haven’t been able to meet but on Monday night we met her!!!! We went out to dinner and she wanted to know why we didn’t drink alcohol. We ended up teaching the Word of Wisdom to her and she thought it was really awesome. She told us that she had done some research to see what the Mormon church was. She hadn’t found too much which is probably a good thing. Haha. We gave her a Mormon.org card and asked her to read he Plan of Salvation Pamphlet. She said she will and that she’s excited to learn more! We have another appointment with her tomorrow!! So excited!
We also did a mini music concert for one of the member’s moms. She’s not a member but loves music so we sang some songs for her and her friend. They loved it because we sang a lot of old Japanese songs. Then they invited us to radio taiso the next day. Radio taiso is early morning exercises for old people and anyone else that wants to join. They really wanted us and the Elders to come so we told them we would. The next morning, the 4 of us biked over to the park at 6 in the morning. Radio taiso started at 6:30 and the park was kind of far away. Anyway, we got to the park and did radio taiso for 10 minutes, it only goes for 10 mins, then we got swarmed by the old people. Hahahahaha. We felt like celebrities. They were asking us all kinds of questions, then Kobayashi san and Ooba san (the two we did a concert for yesterday) told everyone that we sing Japanese songs. The next thing we knew everyone was asking us to sing. We didn’t really have the Japanese songs memorized so we told them we would sing a hymn. We ended up singing Did you think to pray at 6:45 in the morning to a lot of grandmas and grandpas. Hahaha it was a lot of fun though and they were soo sweet. Definitely one of the highlights of my week.
A surprise that happened this week was that our investigator who had a baptismal date ended up moving to Tokyo because she got a modeling job. Haha. It was a big surprise but we are going to refer her to the Tokyo missionaries!
Yesterday was Sister Armour’s birthday and we got lots of cakes and presents! This last week was also her Senpai week, all new missionaries have one week where they are the senior companion, and she did great!!!! Her Japanese has been improving so much!!!! It was amazing to see her use the phone, talk to people and all the other senior companion stuff! As a new missionary all that stuff is really scary but my faith really grew seeing how, even though she was nervous, she still pushed through and did it! She’s great!!
On Saturday we had a kids english class and Rio chan, the Ishii’s daughter, came. She has Down syndrome and she’s adorable!!!! After the class, she kept coming up and asking “What’s your name?” We would tell her and then she would have us sing the name song. Then she would ask us to sing head, shoulders, knees and toes. This happened for about 20 mins. Haha!! I LOVE HER!! She also sat by us in sacrament meeting and wanted us to look at every one of her drawings! She’s the cutest, sweetest little girl ever!
I love being a missionary! I’m still in shock that this is my last week. I’m trying not to think about it because I don’t want to leave these people. I’m so grateful for all of the people that I’ve met and all the experiences that I’ve had. I know that this church is true and I know that God has a plan for each and every one of us. I’m going to trust Him this next week and work my hardest!
I love you all!! Thank you!!! Have a great week!
